Parent Charity Soccer Tournament

Participate in the Parent Charity Soccer Tournament/Robinson Team on Saturday, May 6th @ Mira Costa’s Waller Stadium. We are currently putting together this year's Robinson parents' soccer team for the annual Jeff Goodrich Parents' Soccer Classic. Team Robinson will be playing against teams from each of the Manhattan Beach elementary schools, MBMS, Mira Costa and a few other South Bay teams during a charity soccer tournament held on Saturday, May 6th at Mira Costa's Waller Stadium.

Noon Supervisor

Support our students and our school by becoming a noon supervisor! Noon supervisors ensure students are safe, respectful, and responsible during lunch and on the playground by guiding play and games, resolving disputes, and keeping our amazing students safe. We are looking for 2 hours a day, around lunchtime (paid at $12.84/hour).  If you or someone you know is playful at heart, please consider joining our team!  Stop by or call our school office or Maria in our District’s Human Resources Department at 310-318-7345 ext. 5951 for more information.

Prepare for the Family Fun Run

Ready, Set…Run!  Every Tuesday and Thursday from 7:45 a.m. – 8:05 a.m., we have organized morning runs around Fowler Field before school begins. This is a great way to get in shape for the Family Fun Run! Students will earn a different colored shoe charm for each Fun Run Club they attend. Students who wear their vintage Family Fun Run T-Shirts or Robinson gear to the club on Thursdays will receive an additional dolphin charm! All grades & grownups welcome.

Junior Lifeguard Conditioning Program

Need help training for the Junior Guard Swim Test? Are you a returning Junior Guard looking for conditioning before this summer? Sign-up for our Junior Lifeguard Conditioning Program! We offer three sessions that take place at the Mira Costa High School pool and coincide with the three Junior Guard swim test dates. Participants must be 9 yrs. old (by July 1, 2017). The program is designed to refine basic skills, condition, and improve swimming times.

Meet the Masters Family Art Night

Looking for a fun and educational family night? Join us Friday, February 24 at 5:30pm – 8:00pm in the Robinson cafeteria for a wonderful hands-on art experience as Joan McMahon guides us through “Lautrec’s Lines” by featured artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. All are welcome to participate! This PTSA sponsored event will kick off at 5:30pm if you want pizza, 6:00pm if you’d rather be creative on an empty stomach! All materials will be provided. Just show up ready for a fun evening of art.

Neptunian Woman’s Club 39th Annual Art Contest

Imagine what it’s like to be the exhibiting artist in an Art Show…now enter the Neptunian Woman’s Club 39th Annual Art Contest and find out! The deadline to enter is February 10. Turn in your artwork and entry form to the school office by 3:00 p.m. Good luck!

5th Grade Parent invitation to MBMS Discussion

MBMS and 5th grade families are invited to join in on the third installment in MBMS PTA’s Connected families book series discussion. MBMS Vice Principal, Margot Parker, will facilitate and direct parents through large and small group discussions centered around the book: “UnSelfie, Why Empathetic Kids Succeed in Our All-About-Me World” by Michele Borba. Ed.D. It will take place on Friday, January 27, 8:15-9:30 a.m., at MBMS in the Multipurpose room.

Volunteers Needed

Lunchtime Maker's Studio Volunteers
Join us in the HUB on Fridays twice a month!  Innovate, create and make with our Robinson students.  No special skills needed.  We will show you everything you need to know for each session. Arrive at 11:45 am for set up and training so that we are ready to go when the lunch bell rings.  All volunteers welcome. Please contact Suzanne DeStefano with any questions.

Families Connected

A new resource for the school and Robinson community is the Families Connected website (http://www.southbayfamiliesconnected.org/elementary). On this site you will find information and resources on teenage development, how to support your child in positive social development, how to help your child handle stress, bullying, and other teenage emotional issues.

Parking and Traffic Flow Alert

This entire week, 9/26-9/30, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., an engineering company will be conducting excavation work to improve Time Warner Services. The work will take place on 1st Street between Morningside Dr. and Vista Dr. and will include sidewalk and street excavation/restoration. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated, as parking and traffic flow will be affected (Note: This work is permitted under the city of Manhattan Beach.)

Bicycles at School

If your child rides his/her bike to school, please make sure it is secured at the bike rack only. The perimeter fence may not be used to secure/store bicycles.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders

It is important to keep the traffic flowing during drop-off and pick-up times. Please adhere to these important rules and advise caregivers of them as well: Parking can be very difficult the first month of school.

Pets on School Property

As a reminder, dogs are never permitted on campus under any circumstances, regardless of whether they are on a leash, carried, or in a purse.  Certified service dogs are the only exception to this policy.
